“Our forefathers came here not to get government to do things for them, but to get a chance to do things for themselves.”
~Ezra Taft Benson, Secretary of Agriculture 1953-1961

Whatever happened to “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” ???
A better question is “Ask what you can do for your family.” If we focus on providing for our families, we are going to pursue opportunities that will meet that focus. As the opportunities grow and mature they typically involve hiring people which helps stimulate our local economies. As more people are employed, they will have needs and wants that will need to be met. There will be people that rise to the occasion and will create businesses to provide for those demands. These businesses will probably have to hire people to help meet the demands, thus once again stimulating the local economy. As Doctor Leo Marvin stated, “baby steps.” It is these baby steps that have a far greater impact on our nation. These effects of Capitalism are a chain reaction best described as the ripple effect created by a drop of rain as it hits a pool of water. The first drop creates one ripple, which then creates another one etc, etc. As we seek to do what is best for our families, our actions will have a far greater positive impact on the nation as a whole than any ideological solution no matter how good it sounds.
